From the above, it is easy to know the light efficiency of incandescent light is 8-10LM/W, and the energy-saving is 44-60LM/W. Compare to the energy-saving bulb, a good LED bulb can save 25% energy. Considering about the LED bulb with better lighting angle and directivity, the actual energy-saving effect will be more than 30%. But some cheap copies of LED bulb do not save energy as fluorescent bulbs at all.
Actually, the light efficiency of LED bulb will get to more than 100 LM/W, using capacitor reduction voltage but not lampshade. But that will reduce the quality of light and appear the strobofalsh. Both it will greatly reduce the safety reliability and life span, which is difficult to pass the safety standard. There is not suitable capacitors with large power consumptions. So the main current source of LED bulb is isolated constant-current power supply, safety and reliable.

The following table lists the advantages and disadvantages between energy-saving and LED bulbs.
In the long term, it is much more economical to use LED lamps. For example, PHILIPS 5W of Fluorescent Spiral Energy Saving Lamp costs USD3.00, and XineLam A40 - the XEL 4W costs USD15.00 (actually USD7.50 for factory price). The latter’s life span is more than six times than the former and is equal to 6 pieces of 5W Fluorescent lamps which cost USD18.00, saving at least usd3.00 ( not include saving 30%electricity energy about USD6.00).The Problem is who will buy such an expensive LED bulb? In some developed countries, the government will directly give subsidies for LED lighting to speed up the popularization of energy saving products, but in China we may need to wait for that. Actually, if the LED lighting gets the certification by the U.S. Energy Star, you can also get the subsidies.
There is many complications for LED bulbs, especially in the place where the switch is frequently turned up and down, such as in the kitchen, toilet, corridor to the venues, 24 hours of continuously lighting underground parking, especially the corridor lightings by the automatic sound and electric switches. These are best place for LED bulbs recently, where the energy-saving light is mostly easy to damage, and the span life is less than incandescent lamps. Look at the energy-saving bulb not change so long, do you really intend to use incandescent lamps back?
